    Have you ever heard of the Great River Safari? It’s located in Singapore, nestled between the two counterparts of Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. It is definitely the first of its kind in Asia and famous for its freshwater attractions and river boat rides. The Great River Safari is the 4th zoo in Singapore and was officially opened on the 28th February 2014 with more than 1.1 million visitors since the soft opening in April 2013.

    Not only are the visitors amazed of the tropical rainforest with the river theme, there are also other attractions for them to enjoy such various animal attractions, theme park rides and other major exhibits.

    The park consists of 10 different ecosystems from around the world which includes the River Nile, Yangtze River, Mississippi, Amazon and Tundra. It houses around 5,000 animals from 300 different species. The visitors can find anacondas, Mekong freshwaters stingrays, jaguars, giant otters, Chinese alligators and even giant pandas.

    The famous park also features boat rides called the “Amazon River Quest”. The visitors can find over 30 wildlife species from the Amazon River which include capybaras, red howler monkeys, scarlet ibis, collared peccaries, and black howler monkeys. A 15-minutes ride on the River Safari Cruise will give the visitors a chance to spot animals such as giraffes and elephants. The tickets price is S$5.00 for adults and S$3.00 for children aged 3-12 years old, on top of River Safari admission. Each cruise can take up to 50 passengers and runs at 15-minute intervals from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Noted also the famous boats are wheelchair-friendly.
